You Can't Always Get What You Want (But You Can Know What You Stand For).

Values are not abstract. They are not words you slap on a poster or toss into a job interview because they sound good. They are the hard-wired, non-negotiable principles that shape how you move through the world — whether you have named them or not.

They show up when you make a decision no one else understands. They whisper when something feels off but you cannot quite explain why. They roar when you finally speak the truth you have been sitting on for far too long.

Knowing your values is not a luxury — it is a necessity. Without them, you risk living a life that looks good on the outside but quietly eats away at you from within.

Why does this matter?

Because the cost of not knowing your values is high:

  • You say yes when you mean no.

  • You stay silent when your gut screams to speak.

  • You bend so often you forget how to stand.

When your values are clear, the noise drops. Decisions become simpler. Boundaries make sense. You stop performing and start aligning — with purpose, not pressure.

And coaching?

A good coach will not give you a pre-printed list and ask you to circle your top five. They will sit with you in the mess, in the questions, in the patterns. They will help you name what already lives in your bones — your own why — and help you make choices that honour it.

Because this is not about becoming someone new. It is about becoming more you.
